Tampa General Hospital ranked No. 20 on Fast Company’s 2026 Best Workplaces for Innovators list for its academic health system.
To be considered for the 100-company list, applicants detailed their investments in innovation, internal programs and company culture. A panel of judges then reviewed the top-rated companies to determine the final honorees.
This year’s honorees represented a variety of industries, including entertainment, biotechnology, consumer packaged goods, marketing, education and health care.
“At Tampa General, we believe that if we want to fundamentally transform healthcare, we have to be willing to challenge the status quo — and that starts by creating a culture where our team members feel empowered to ask questions, think differently and act on their ideas to drive change,” said John Couris, president and CEO of Florida Health Sciences Center, in a press release.
Couris said the recognition belongs to the entire TGH team and reflects the hospital’s culture of curiosity and continuous improvement.
More than 50 ideas were submitted on behalf of TGH for this year’s competition. One of those ideas was Fast Track, a program developed by five infusion nurses who identified a challenge affecting patients receiving short-duration treatments.
As the winning team, the nurses received a $50,000 commitment from TGH to support Fast Track.
