Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-05-27. Plain-English version of how we handle data.

Who we are

Certified Florida is a publication owned by Reimagine Media Group(the “data controller”) and operated by Pathway Connection Solutions(the “data processor”). Both entities are organized in the State of Florida.

Mailing address (both entities, for the purposes of this policy): 6156 8th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL.

Contact for privacy requests: contact@certifiedfl.com. Mark the subject line “Privacy request” for routing.

What we collect

We collect data in three buckets:

  1. Things you give us. When you fill out an inquiry form, subscribe to a newsletter, book a conversation, or send us email, we keep what you typed — name, email, phone, business name, message.
  2. Things your browser sends.Standard server logs (IP, user-agent, timestamp, referring URL) and cookies used for authentication, anti-spam, and audience measurement. We don’t use cookies to build a cross-site identity profile.
  3. Things our partners report. When you pay for a Featured Partner spot, Stripe processes the payment and tells us it succeeded; when you book a call through Calendly, Calendly tells us when. Each partner is covered by their own privacy policy linked below.

How we use it

  • Reply to inquiries, book meetings, and run partnerships you initiated.
  • Send the newsletter you subscribed to, with an unsubscribe link on every send.
  • Send transactional email tied to a paid Featured Partner spot (invoices, receipts, scheduled-content confirmations).
  • Measure how regional publications perform in aggregate so we can pick stories that resonate.
  • Keep the site secure (rate-limit abusive requests, screen spam submissions).

We do not sell personal informationin the CCPA / CPRA sense, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do use Meta Pixel on regional landing pages for our own audience measurement (see “Service providers” below).

Legal basis (GDPR)

  • Consent — newsletter subscription, optional marketing emails.
  • Contract — running a partnership you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interest — security logs, spam-screening, aggregate analytics, replying to inquiries you sent us.
  • Legal obligation — financial / tax records tied to paid partnerships.

Service providers we use

We rely on a small set of vendors to operate. Each has its own privacy policy and processes data on our behalf under written agreements (or standard contractual clauses where applicable):

  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage. Holds inquiry submissions, newsletter lists, partnership records.
  • Vercel — hosting + edge delivery for this site.
  • Resend — transactional email + newsletter delivery.
  • Stripe — payment processing for Featured Partner spots.
  • Calendly — scheduling for partnership conversations.
  • Meta Pixel — audience measurement on regional landing pages, on a per-publication pixel. Disabled in development; only fires on production builds.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — form spam protection without third-party cookies.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what we have about you (access).
  • Ask us to fix it if it’s wrong (correction).
  • Ask us to delete it (erasure / right to be forgotten).
  • Ask for a portable copy (data portability).
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Opt out of marketing email at any time — every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
  • California residents: opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” under CPRA (we don’t do either, but the right is explicit).
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of the above.

To exercise a right, email contact@certifiedfl.com with the subject line “Privacy request” and what you’d like to do. We aim to acknowledge within 5 business days and resolve within 30, faster when possible.

Retention

Active inquiry threads, partnership records, and the contacts behind them are kept while the relationship is alive plus a reasonable archival window (typically 24 months after last contact) so we can reference history. Closed-lost or never-responded leads roll off the active CRM into archival storage on a similar cadence. Financial records tied to paid partnerships are retained for the legally required period (typically 7 years in Florida). You can ask for earlier deletion at any time and we’ll comply unless we’re legally required to keep a specific record.

Children

Certified Florida is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, email us and we’ll delete it.

International transfers

Our service providers process data primarily in the United States. If you’re in the EEA / UK / Switzerland, your data may be transferred to the US under Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards each vendor maintains.

Changes

We’ll update this page when our data practices change in any meaningful way. Material changes get a notice on the home pages of each regional publication for at least 30 days. The “Effective” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
