Kaia Bowls is opening at 111 107th Ave., Unit A in Treasure Island this October, taking the 1,300-square-foot space that Vine and Grind left when it relocated to Central Avenue and rebranded as Brick Road Olive Oil Company. It will be the chain's seventh Tampa Bay location and, per the operator's Instagram, the first in the Kaia network to carry a dedicated espresso machine and coffee program. Franchisee Allison James, a four-year Treasure Island resident, will operate the unit independently.
Marc and Cristinela Ancuta of Clearwater took over the Kaia brand in 2022 and began franchising in 2024. The network now counts six locations — downtown St. Pete, Clearwater, Clearwater Beach, Madeira Beach, Safety Harbor, and Ybor City — before the Treasure Island unit opens the seventh.
The coffee program distinguishes the 107th Avenue location from every other unit in the chain. Doors run 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
The core menu follows the brand's format: poke bowls built around tuna, salmon, shrimp, chicken, or tofu; acai, pitaya, and chia pudding bowls topped with fruit, granola, honey, peanut butter, and hemp seeds; plus avocado toast, juices, and smoothies.
The space shares a plaza with Gigi's Italian Restaurant and Lana's Lounge on the island's commercial corridor.
The opening fills the vacancy Vine and Grind left on the 107th Avenue strip. Whether the Ancutas extend the espresso program to other Kaia units — or keep it a Treasure Island exclusive — will be a signal to watch as the franchise continues to build out its regional footprint.
