Café Bavaro, a breakfast café and coffee bar from the family behind Bavaro’s Pizza Napoletana, will open a new location Friday, Oct. 16 in St. Petersburg.

This Italian breakfast concept will open inside Bavaro’s at 945 Central Ave. in St. Pete’s EDGE District.

The traditional Neapolitan pizza and pastaria restaurant announced the new café on Instagram as Bavaro’s celebrated its 10 year anniversary in the EDGE District back in June.

The first Café Bavaro location has been operating in Clearwater Beach and will bring its classic favorites to St. Pete.

The coastal café concept features an espresso bar serving cappuccinos, flat whites, cortados, lattes and Americanos, along with cannoli and tiramisu lattes, matcha, a limoncello refresher and mimosas.

Breakfast options range from freshly baked bagels to sandwiches served on Asiago sourdough. The Cotto Egg & Cheese features prosciutto cotto, a mascarpone egg, provolone, arugula and roasted garlic aioli. The Tomozza pairs the same egg with fior di latte, prosciutto di Parma, heirloom tomato, basil pesto and balsamic glaze.

The Clearwater Beach location also serves cannoli and tiramisu iced lattes.

Kaleigh DeSousa, manager of Bavaro’s St. Pete location, told St. Pete Rising the café had been in the works for some time. She said the focus will be on specialty coffee and drinks, with staples such as pancakes and French toast made in-house.

The St. Pete location will operate inside Bavaro’s Pizza’s dining room before lunch and dinner service.
