Body Hot Pilates, a heated fitness studio concept founded by Lyndsey Meade, is opening at UTC Sarasota — the University Town Center complex on the city's north side. Per the studio's Instagram, classes will run 50 minutes in rooms maintained at 95 to 99 degrees Fahrenheit, a temperature range that sits well above ambient studio conditions and closer to the heat protocols associated with hot yoga formats.
The programming pairs Pilates movement fundamentals with strength training, incorporating free weights, resistance bands, sliders, and magic circles into a single session. The studio characterizes the result as low-impact but demanding — a combination that positions Body Hot Pilates within the strength-Pilates hybrid category rather than traditional mat or reformer-only programming. Adding load-bearing equipment to a heated room raises the physical output considerably compared with either discipline alone.
Meade, who founded the concept and serves as its public face per the studio's social channels, has built the Body Hot Pilates identity around small class sizes and personalized instruction. Capping enrollment per session shifts the model away from high-volume group fitness and toward a higher instructor-to-client ratio — an approach that tends to support more technical coaching and typically commands a premium price point relative to large-format boutique classes.
