Every August 13, Tampa's area code becomes a citywide discount. In 2026, 813 Day carries more than 100 participating businesses across Hillsborough County — what the event's organizer describes, via Instagram, as the biggest unofficial holiday in the county — spanning museum admissions, cigar-factory tours, waterfront dining, and neighborhood quick-service.
The cultural tier this year includes the Florida Aquarium, the Dali Museum, and the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, all three knocking the area code off admission. At MOSI, admission comes with a complimentary round of mini-golf. J.C. Newman Cigar Co. is offering guided tours of its Ybor City factory, adding a manufacturing-heritage draw to a holiday that has otherwise tilted toward food and drink.
The food and drink participation list, per the organizer's Instagram, includes bartaco, The Salty Donut, Four Green Fields, Oystercatchers, Gallito Taqueria, Splitsville, and Dang Dude, all running specials. Downtown Dogs is distributing free Frosty Pup Cups and 813-branded bandanas throughout the day.
Two programs carry a charitable component. Predalina's is directing proceeds from its Sunset on Bayshore cocktail to Feeding Tampa Bay. At Sparkman Wharf, the property is donating for every photograph taken at its decorated Tampa sign, with proceeds going to the Florida Aquarium's marine rescue and research work. Sports mascots are scheduled on site at Sparkman Wharf through the close of the event.
