Taste of Grand Central: Cheers to 100 Years runs from 6 to 9 p.m. this Thursday at Coastal Creative, 2201 1st Ave S in St. Petersburg, with tastings from more than 12 Grand Central District restaurants, beer and wine, live entertainment, and a silent auction. The event marks the centennial of Grand Central as an organized commercial district — a designation it has held since 1926.
Eight restaurants are confirmed on the tasting lineup: Trophy Fish, Pulpo, Noble Tavern, Cheeky's, The Twisted Indian, The Oyster Bar, Pin On Grand, and House of Vegano. Additional participants bring the total count past a dozen.
Tickets include a welcome drink and are sold individually or by the table for groups. Proceeds are directed toward three priorities the district funds year-round: corridor beautification, business advocacy, and the events calendar it produces on an ongoing basis. That calendar includes Halloween on Central, the Christmas Market, and Pride — recurring activations the district organizes annually.
The silent auction and group-table option position this as a more hosted evening than a standard walkabout crawl, though the tasting format remains the core draw. Coastal Creative at 2201 1st Ave S anchors a lineup that draws from restaurants spread across the surrounding corridor.
Grand Central's hundred-year run as a defined St. Pete commercial district gives this edition of the Taste series an organizing argument beyond a routine fundraiser pitch. The centennial framing makes Tuesday's proceeds something more directional: whatever the silent auction and ticket sales generate goes back into the programs — the Halloween night, the Christmas Market, the Pride activation — that the district uses to sustain foot traffic and business visibility through the remainder of 2026. How the night performs will set the table for what the district has available heading into fall.
