A decade after opening in St. Pete's Grand Central District, Pinellas Ale Works marks its 10th anniversary this weekend with a two-night program that reflects how the taproom has held its footing in a corridor that has seen significant turnover: local programming, rotating craft releases, and a floor policy that has made dogs as regular a sight as bar stools.
The main event runs Saturday, May 16, from 2 p.m. to midnight. Per the anniversary announcement, the night includes themed beer releases, casino games, prizes, raffles, live entertainment, limited-edition anniversary shirts, and specialty beer packages. Admission is free, and dogs are not just welcome — they're "encouraged," per the operator's own framing.
Friday evening offers a lower-key preview: St. Pete Standup performs at the taproom while four of PAW's longest-running core beers pour at $5 a pint — a price that has grown uncommon as St. Pete's craft market has matured over the same period.
Among PAW's recognized releases are the Milk Bone Sweet Stout and the 1888 Russian Imperial Stout, both cited as award-winning in the anniversary promotion. The tap list rotates beyond those anchors. PAW's food program runs through the Chinelos food truck, stationed behind the taproom; the event announcement describes Chinelos as among the highest-rated Mexican food operations in Pinellas County.
Grand Central has absorbed considerable change over the same decade — new concepts arriving and, frequently, departing along the Central Avenue corridor. PAW's continued presence at the 10-year mark, with its community-oriented programming and dog-forward identity intact, makes it one of the longer-tenured operators in the district.
No expansion announcements or structural changes were tied to the milestone in the promotional materials. Whether Saturday brings news beyond the party itself has not been signaled.
