Florafête is opening a combined flower shop and wine bar this fall at 400 Beach Drive, Suite 173 in St. Petersburg, taking over the space previously occupied by Savory Spice Shop. Floral designer Lucy Watkins is behind the concept — her first retail storefront after five years of event-based floral work, which she is calling a Bouquet Bar.
The premise runs a working flower shop and a wine lounge simultaneously under one roof, with the operator describing the space as a place to "sip, savor, and gather." Customers can pick up fresh arrangements, schedule delivery, or stay in the lounge; flower subscriptions and memberships add a recurring tier to the retail offering. Watkins is also programming the space for arranging classes, tutorials, and private parties, and will continue accepting full event design bookings — the work that built the Florafête name before this storefront existed.
That event background is the defining context for this opening. Watkins spent five years developing Florafête as an event-only practice, which means the lease at Suite 173 gives a working studio its first public address rather than launching a business from scratch. The subscription model and ongoing private booking capability suggest the retail floor is as much an anchor for an existing event clientele as it is a bid for street-level foot traffic from the waterfront.
The Suite 173 space, which Savory Spice Shop vacated, sits along the Beach Drive waterfront corridor in downtown St. Pete, a stretch that has sustained specialty retail and food-and-beverage concepts. The Bouquet Bar shifts the address toward a floral-and-wine hybrid format, bundling an arranging studio, a subscription shop, and a wine lounge into a single room.
No specific date within fall 2026 has been confirmed by the operator. The range of offerings — walk-in flowers, wine service, subscriptions, classes, and full event design — gives Florafête multiple channels to run from a single address, and will show how Watkins intends to balance the retail and event sides of the studio once the storefront opens.
