Byte, the halal smash burger concept from brothers Ahmed, Ali, and Matt Mansour, launched a food truck at 301 Westshore Blvd. on August 3 — a placeholder while the Mansours build out a permanent Westshore restaurant at a nearby address they haven't yet disclosed. The truck runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, with extended Friday and Saturday night hours, per the brand's Instagram.
The Westshore move comes less than four months after the Mansours opened Byte's Temple Terrace location — a compressed timeline from debut to second-market expansion. The operators say on Instagram that the Temple Terrace concept quickly built a following around truffle and falafel smash burgers made with prime angus beef and served with a choice of six house-made dipping sauces. The halal-certified menu is the detail that separates Byte from most of its Tampa Bay competition in the smash-burger segment.
The food truck at 301 Westshore Blvd. is a deliberate bridge: it puts Byte in front of the Westshore customer base before the permanent build-out is complete and gives the Mansours a live read on demand patterns — hours, day-of-week, volume — before committing to a full interior. No permit filings or lease documents for the permanent Westshore address have been made public as of this reporting.
Westshore is one of Tampa's denser office corridors, anchored at the north by International Plaza and extending south toward the Westshore Marina district. The 11 a.m.–5 p.m. weekday schedule aligns with the area's midday lunch traffic. The extended Friday and Saturday night hours suggest the Mansours are also probing whether evening demand is strong enough to design around when the permanent location takes shape.
