Vibes Brews opens August 29 with Caribbean-inspired craft beer and bold South Florida energy

How Vibes Brews came to be

The space at 3944 NW 19th Street housed Yeasty Brews under its previous owners; Vibes Brews arrives as a new operation with its own identity, rooted in Caribbean culture, bold flavor, and genuine community. At the center is a partnership built on the better part of two decades in South Florida hospitality: Ramcharran curating beverage menus for rooms like The Wharf in Fort Lauderdale, Throw Social, and HIGHBAR Pool+Bar+Sky, and Jannes brewing at The Cove Brewery, Black Flamingo, and Holy Mackerel. One commands what makes a bar work; the other has the technical depth to make a beer worth drinking. The result is a brewery with a clear point of view.

Ramcharran's background is in South Florida nightlife and beverage development, with experience that spans counties and venues and has built in him an instinct for hospitality that goes well beyond what is in the glass. At Vibes Brews, that instinct shapes the training of the staff, all hospitality professionals who specialize in delivering memorable experiences, and the energy of the room itself. The goal is not just a good bar. It is a place where the atmosphere does some of the work.

What goes in the glass

The beers are where the concept becomes concrete. Jannes's extensive background shows up in a lineup that leans into Caribbean-inspired profiles: bold, layered, and often visually striking. The fruit list runs to varieties most drinkers have never heard of, among them sugar apple, jamoon, soursop, and sapodilla, alongside bold flavors like peanut punch, rum cake, and the many uses of coconut. The brewery is intentional about presentation too: the taps pour teal, gold, and purple, under chalkboard names like Higher Appetite, Strawberry Blonde, and Smoke Session IPA. These are not beers designed to disappear into the background. They are built to be the conversation.

Food is not an afterthought either. The kitchen runs a bold Afro-Caribbean and Latin-Caribbean inspired menu, with rotating food trucks adding to it. Look for Too Spicy 4 U, a chopped jerk chicken guava BBQ sandwich that packs serious Caribbean heat, and the Cuban Link Flatbread built on ropa vieja de pollo. The combination of strong drinks, real food, and a room that feels right is what Vibes Brews is staking its reputation on from day one.

A calendar with standing plans

The weekly programming does real work. Mango Mondays, Sweat to Soca Sundays, and Star Gazing Wednesdays hold standing spots, with Caribbean cooking classes, a Vegan Day, local farmers markets, video game tournaments, and Miami Hurricanes watch parties folded around them. The brewery also plans to be the area's flagship for cricket, broadcasting T20 league play and international matches. The intent, in the owners' words, is a brewery where no visit gets boring.

Who it is for and when to go

Most of all, the room is meant for a specific community. It exists first for the Caribbean community in Broward County, in the owners' words "a place to feel comfortable where our culture is being highlighted," and for everyone else to experience that culture firsthand.

Weekday doors open at 2 p.m. and run to 10, Friday stretches to midnight, and both weekend days open at noon, Saturday running to midnight and Sunday to 10. The address is 3944 NW 19th St, Fort Lauderdale. The range is deliberate. It covers young professionals stopping in after work on a Thursday, weekend regulars looking for a longer stretch, and families who want to make Sunday a destination from noon on.

That last group was part of the plan from the beginning. Vibes Brews was designed as a space where new parents can unwind while their kids enjoy themselves too, making it a brewery that works across a crowd.
