HYPHEN Coffee opened this month at 2166 W. Busch Blvd., built into Hyphen Tattoo Studio and operating under the umbrella brand Somos Hyphen. The combination — a full-service café sharing floor space with a working tattoo studio — is the format the operator frames with its tagline: "nothing ordinary happens here."

The drink list draws from Colombian coffee tradition and extends it with a set of house originals. The Spritzee is a sparkling Americano finished with house-made fruit syrup; the Hyphen Sunrise pairs espresso with orange juice; the Americola uses a cola-flavored coffee base; and the bombón latte runs sweet and condensed. Standard lattes, cappuccinos, and Americanos round out the board for guests who prefer the conventional.

Food holds to the same Colombian thread. The anchor item is the Waffle de Bono, which presses pandebono — Colombian cheese bread — into waffle form and plates it with guava sauce. Dulce de leche turnovers and guava chicharrones cover the sweet side; a cheesy panini melt built on sharp cheddar, havarti, and spicy aioli handles the savory end.

The Somos Hyphen brand name positions the concept around dual identity — the hyphen framing the relationship between the tattoo studio and the café, or between Colombian and American coffee culture. The drink and food program carries enough internal logic that it reads as a developed concept in its own right, not a secondary amenity for tattoo clients waiting for a session.

No additional locations or expansion timeline were included in the operator's announcement. The format — Colombian-leaning café housed inside a specialty tattoo studio — is an uncommon configuration for the Busch Boulevard corridor, and HYPHEN Coffee's near-term trajectory will hinge on whether the two halves of the space draw a shared regular clientele or operate largely as parallel businesses under one roof.
