Camelot, the nautical-themed nightclub in downtown West Palm Beach, is closing after 12 years in operation. The venue, which opened in 2014, will hold its official final party on September 19, per an announcement from the operator.
The club built its identity around a nautical-inspired lounge format and anchored its programming to Palm Beach's Kennedy-era social scene. The operator's closing announcement describes it as "one of downtown's most recognizable clubs" — a run that spanned, in the operator's own words, "12 years of parties, celebrations and late nights."
No reason for the closure has been stated publicly. The operator has not announced plans for the space or indicated whether a successor is in place.
The September 19 closing party marks the end of a tenure that began when Camelot opened in 2014. What occupies the location next has not been disclosed, and no redevelopment or sublease has been announced.
