JetBlue has launched what the carrier describes as its largest-ever schedule at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, now operating more than 125 daily departures to 55-plus nonstop destinations, per the airline's Instagram account. With nearly 150 daily flights projected for this winter, JetBlue says it now holds the top-carrier position at FLL by volume — a claim that would represent a structural shift at an airport long defined by budget competition.
The winter projection marks a meaningful step up from the 125-plus daily flights already active. For Broward County travelers, an expanded nonstop menu reduces the number of markets that require a connection through a competing hub — a practical benefit that tends to show up in booking behavior before it shows up in any carrier's press materials.
Alongside the schedule build, JetBlue has introduced a status match program for eligible Spirit Airlines members. Spirit filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late 2024 and has substantially reduced its FLL operation, where it had long been a dominant low-fare presence. JetBlue's status match is a targeted attempt to redirect loyalty members left without a primary carrier — a move standard enough in airline markets following a competitor's contraction, but one that carries additional weight given the depth of Spirit's retreat from South Florida specifically.
The pairing of a record schedule expansion and a loyalty recruitment effort points to a coordinated strategy to consolidate JetBlue's position at FLL while the competitive field is still reorganizing.
