Cue Collective is taking over The Floridian—the Las Olas diner that has served Fort Lauderdale continuously since 1937—for a one-night house music event on Friday, July 17. The show runs 9 PM to 2 AM, is 21-and-over, and requires a valid ticket; per the operator's Instagram, capacity is limited and the event is expected to sell out.
The program includes four DJ sets: Tim Drepin, Smitty, Ctrl S, and a B3B closing set. The operator's Instagram describes the setup as an immersive lighting environment with a full bar and continuous dancing—a format built around The Floridian's existing interior rather than a converted blank slate.
The diner's longevity is the production's central asset. The Floridian has been a round-the-clock institution on the eastern stretch of Las Olas Boulevard since the late 1930s, long enough to have outlasted multiple generations of Fort Lauderdale bar and club concepts. Staging a late-night DJ program inside a booth-and-counter room that predates most of the city's current built environment is precisely the kind of venue friction that distinguishes a pop-up event series from a standard club night.
No recurring residency has been announced by either party. Cue Collective is directing ticketing details and a ticket giveaway through its Instagram comment section. Whether the collaboration extends past July 17—or whether the format moves to another off-format venue—has not been stated by the organizer.
