Buc-ee's, the Texas-based travel center chain, plans to open four new Florida locations by 2029 — including a 120-pump site near West Palm Beach — per the company's Instagram.

The expansion includes announced stores in Fort Pierce, Port Charlotte, and Tallahassee alongside the West Palm Beach location. The four sites would extend Buc-ee's into Florida markets where the chain currently has no footprint: the Treasure Coast, the southwest Gulf Coast, and the state capital, adding to a network that has so far concentrated along the I-4 corridor.

The West Palm Beach site, with 120 fuel pumps, fits the chain's standard large-format model. Buc-ee's stores are built around scale — typically spanning well past 50,000 square feet — and combine a fresh food program with an unusually broad retail floor. The in-store menu runs smoked barbecue carved on-site, house-made fudge by the pound, and proprietary snacks led by Beaver Nuggets, the caramelized corn puff that has become the chain's most recognizable product. Merchandise includes branded goods, outdoor equipment, and apparel — a layout that turns a fuel stop into a planned half-hour visit.

The geographic logic behind each market follows the chain's interstate-corridor site-selection history. Fort Pierce sits along I-95 on the Treasure Coast; Port Charlotte is positioned near I-75 in southwest Florida between Fort Myers and Sarasota; and Tallahassee would give the chain a presence in north Florida, capturing the state capital's government, university, and long-haul traffic. A West Palm Beach location would serve the heavily traveled corridor linking South Florida to the Orlando metro — a stretch with limited large-format travel center competition at present.

South Florida has been largely absent from Buc-ee's Florida expansion to date. A 120-pump West Palm Beach site would represent one of the chain's more substantial individual commitments in the state, and its trajectory in that market will likely shape how aggressively the company pursues the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–Palm Beach corridor through the remainder of the decade.

No site addresses, square footage for the three additional stores, or permit filings have been confirmed in the company's announcement. The 2029 timeline is drawn from Instagram, not from filed development applications or signed leases. County-level permitting activity in Palm Beach, St. Lucie, Charlotte, and Leon counties will be the first signals that any of these locations are advancing from announced to active development.
